Venezuelan Rainforest

We have not long returned from our inspiring South American expedition.  We spent most time in Chile, Argentina and Venezuela and fell in love with the Venezuelan Rainforest.

The enormous variety of landscapes in Venezuela includes the snow capped-Andean mountains, fifteen hundred kilometres of Orinoco River and the Amazon rainforest.  We hired a small plane to fly over the rainforest and followed the Churún River (a tributary of the Caroní River, one of the Orinoco’s largest tributaries) to Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world.

Being away from the West and chatting with so many different villagers in different cultures has reawakened my passion for ethnomedicine and has oddly motivated me to finally address this tenacious skin rash.

My facial rash is no better and I've been living with it now for far too many years.  I am disappointed in the doctors and their various diagnoses...dermatitis...eczema...  I don't think they really know what has caused it and are only prepared and equiped to address the symptoms.  No products help and I'm not going to use topical steroids daily for the rest of my life, no matter how benign they assure me this would be.  Neither cheap nor expensive moisturisers help at all and most seem just concoctions of petrochemical byproducts.  No wonder I have a rash!  However I have the skill, knowledge, motivation and commitment to develop the absolute best skincare products available today which are skin-nourishing and beneficial, without the myriad of chemicals that seem to cause so many reactions.

So exploring rivers, walking the jungle floor and flying across the carpet of rainforest canopy has inspired me to return to ethnomedicine.  This year we have planned a lot of research and development, studying with experts in Europe and Scandinavia.  We are going to do market research over the next couple of months, and we will concentrate on developing exceptional products.
